SPI
and DPI accommodate multiple inspection functions such as bar
code verification, matrix/missing label detection, flag and
mill-splice detection, as well as print quality and count verification.
Both systems can be equipped with multiple slitting methods,
a leader and trailer creation system as well as multiple row
back numbering. Log reports for audit tracking and core-label
printing systems are also available. |

Human Machine
Interface (HMI) |
|
| |
|
HMI provides completely
integrated operator control from a touch screen monitor. The operator
can monitor unwind and rewind roll diameters and machine control menus
for setting machine speed, unwind, and rewind tension values. Vision
system menus are also selective for setting and reviewing inspection
system performance. |

SPI and DPI incorporate advanced
eDrive (electronically-synchronized motor drive system) technology
on all active shafts including unwind, draw station and rewind. Among
other features, eDrive offers consistent performance, lower tension/higher
speeds, fast/easy job set-ups and low maintenance. |

Advanced Vision
System Integration |
|
| |
|
Labels for security sensitive
industries not only bear information, they also bear responsibility.
For example, medical staff often make critical decisions in seconds
based on the information contained on pharmaceutical labels. Under
these circumstances, any error can have serious or even fatal consequences.
Rotoflex works closely with its vision partners to provide the most
advanced security technology available. These systems store "a
known good image" as a reference and compares it with subsequent
images for compliance. |
|
| |
|
Rotoflex
vision systems provide advanced quality control by identifying various
faults including ink defects, missing print, color changes, register
movement, print to die cut, missing labels/matrixes and splices. The
vision system displays the defects on a monitor, so that the operator
can quickly locate, verify and correct the problems. |
|
 |
|
Uncompromised
Slitting Integrity |
|
| |
|
The high precision camera
locks the slitter to a printed feature or die cut edge of the label,
enabling the slitter unit to follow the motion of the feature. This
advanced technology compensates for web weave at the slitter unit,
greatly improving the accuracy of the slitting in a stop and go environment
(typical achievable figure is +/- 0.2 mm). |
|
| |
|
The system is user friendly
and is fully integrated into the Rotoflex control electronics. The
system alarms when slitting is out of tolerance with the option to
record slitting accuracy for each roll. |
